Are you an early-to-mid-career library professional ready to connect, grow, and make your mark on the global stage? If that’s you, read on!

For the World Library and Information Congress (WLIC) in 2025, IFLA is offering Emerging Leaders’ Grants to support the attendance of promising early-career professionals at WLIC in Astana, Kazakhstan, with the aim of empowering and inspiring emerging library leaders to engage actively in the global library community.

The IFLA Emerging Leaders’ Grants are established specifically for library professionals with less than 15 years of experience to help them obtain global exposure and make key connections with peers from around the world. The grant’s purpose is to give emerging professionals a one-of-a-kind experience to attend WLIC 2025 and boost librarianship in their own communities and beyond.

The Grants will support a small group of selected applicants by covering the full Congress registration fee, along with a travel allowance between €1000 and €2000, depending on the applicant’s country of origin. Grantees will also have the opportunity to contribute to the follow-up work on the IFLA Trend Report, helping shape the future of the library profession.

Applications must be received by 4 July 2025. Successful candidates will be notified by 11 July 2025.
