The library was opened in the Yesil district of Astana in 2024 as a result of the implementation of the order of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at a meeting on the development of the city of Astana and in a short time it became a popular center for children’s reading and creativity, attracting more and more readers.
The area of the library is 340 m2, and its book collection is more than 3,500 copies, including colorful illustrated publications, fairy tales, educational and fiction literature for children of different ages. It is equipped with personal computers with Internet access, as well as Wi-Fi access points. There are comfortable areas for reading and cultural recreation.
In 2024, 12,000 people visited the library. The library holds exciting events to promote reading among children, literary competitions, quizzes and creative workshops. It implements the projects “Reading Together”, “Magic Fairy Tale”, “Living Book”, and also holds meetings with writers, representatives of creative professions, meetings of various clubs and interest groups. “Zhildam oku” is a club for developing speed reading skills in children, and its classes help develop attention and memory. The photo club is a place where children learn the basics of photography and creating beautiful pictures. “Ochumelye Ruki” is a creative workshop where children create crafts with their own hands and develop their imagination. The library holds English classes for children and adults. Children’s participation in the “Manerlep oku” club helps them develop their expressive reading skills and a deeper understanding of literary texts. The Speaking Club at the library is a club for speaking English in an entertaining way.
Children’s Library No. 1 of Astana is a cozy place where children can get acquainted with the world of books, develop their imagination and gain new knowledge.
