The library of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Astana has been operating since 2010 and is an important part of the educational environment, providing students and teachers with all the necessary resources for academic and research activities. It serves as a center for knowledge dissemination and intellectual communication, contributing to the development of critical thinking, research skills, reading and functional literacy.
The library’s collection consists of 19,552 items, including educational, scientific, and literary works in Kazakh, Russian, and English. The library actively implements modern space organization methods, digital technologies, and effective strategies. Within the framework of the Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools’ library program, various educational projects are implemented to promote reading and develop students’ intellectual abilities: Book Start, NIS бірге оқиық (Let’s read together)!, Reading Time, 100 Books and READx.
The main principle of the library’s design is functional zoning, which allows creating a comfortable and creative space for reading, studying, and research. This approach contributes to a conducive environment and promotes an effective educational process.
